About

The Center for Microscopy-Microanalysis and Information Processing (CMMIP) takes  part of University “Politehnica” of Bucharest (UPB). CMMIP is based on the first laboratory in Scanning Laser Microscopy field, established in Department of Physics of UPB  in 1977. CMMIP was founded by Prof. George Stanciu in 2002 as a multi-users research center. The research topics of the center tend to be pluridisciplinar.

The mission of the center is to meet needs of the University and of  other partner universities, institutes and the industry, in different areas of microanalysis.

The center provides state-of-the-art analytical services and instrumentation and maintains many research collaborations in the following areas : materials science , microelectronics , biological science , physics , chemistry , geology , chemical engineering , electronic engineering, etc.

Facility services are on a first-come-first-served basis.

Operational funds for the center are derived from direct charges made to facility users and research grants of the center members.

CMMIP is open to researchers from universities, government laboratories, and industry, nation-wide as well as internationally. It is a unique resource representing an exceptional opportunity to answer your materials characterization questions.
